javascript - JSON: why are forward slashes escaped?



The reason for this "escapes" me.



JSON escapes the forward slash, so a hash {a: "a/b/c"} is serialized as {"a":"a\/b\/c"} instead of {"a":"a/b/c"}.




Why?
